This painting is quite large – over 22 inches broad, but rather than getting frightened with the size , we have to remember to be relevant with the same principle that we would on a smaller painting, contravention it down into easy stages.

Step 1 – Drawing and opening Layers
On top of you be able to see my pencil drawing on my by now primed canvas.

Step 2
I then am relevant some initial color to the canvas, by plenty of painting average (Liquin) and raw and burnt sienna oil paints.

Step 3

Step 4

The hair texture left looked huge but the color was too light so I on one occasion again applied a extremely thin layer of Liquin then painted on a additional realistic color, Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna Mix.
